Kitchen Trends for 2020
Tuesday, January 7th, 2020

A new year brings the start of new trends and if you’re wanting to refresh your kitchen then carry on reading as you’ll need to know these must have trends for your project.

1. HANDLELESS KITCHEN CABINETS

Sleek, simple and streamlined is the idea behind one of the biggest trends for 2020.  Advances in technology  means handles can now be a thing of the past and  this sleek modern look can be acquired by either using push open/close mechanisms or recessed/hidden handles.

2. IS GREEN THE NEW BLUE ?

Whilst neutral and light-coloured kitchens remain popular, we are leaning towards a pop of colour this year. Whether it be the whole kitchen or highlight colours and features we are sure this trend will bring some life back into your space.

3. DOUBLE ISLANDS

A favourite TUKC trend and one for those with bigger spaces. ‘With the move towards larger kitchens, in open plan spaces, the kitchen island has become an essential kitchen feature. A pair of island units has become the last work in luxury, an expansive addition for when space is no object’ (source: www.homesandgardens.com).

4. KITCHEN LARDERS

With food storage organisation on the rise it is no surprise that larders/pantries are a must have for 2020. Larders are versatile as they can be freestanding or built in and possible for any kitchen size and layout.

5. MARBLE IS BACK

We absolutely love marble in kitchens – it’s super sleek and screams luxury design. It works great for worktops or a fancy splashback. ‘If there’s one thing that’s storming the style charts and shaking up interiors, it’s the return of marble’ says Jennifer Ebert at www.homesandgardens.com.

6. STATEMENT BUTLER & COPPER SINKS

Boring sinks are a thing of the past. This year we are seeing bold statement sinks in decorative styles and beautiful hammered bronze shades. Just what we need to make doing the washing up more interesting!
